Salman Khan Slapped

Bollywood bad boy Salman Khan reacted calmly after getting a tight slap from a 20 yr old exuberant girl named Monika in a party. Rather bursting over the girl for misbehaving, he instructed the security guards to escort the lady out of the party.

Present on the occasion were Bollywood actors like Sushmita Sen, Sohail Khan, Riya Sen, Amaan and Ayaan Ali Khan. The party was thrown in the capital to celebrate the success of Sanjana Jon’s fashion show.

Talking about the incidence a source said, “The party went on till the wee hours of morning. A sloshed Monika accompanied by a male friend first tried to forcefully enter the party venue. She was too loud and completely out of control because of her intoxicated state. Sohail Khan, who was standing close to the entrance, saw the hungama and asked the security guards not to let Monika in.”

“Meanwhile, Salman heard the commotion and walked to where Monika was making a fuss. She was misbehaving and started bragging about her connections and abused Sushmita Sen. When Salman very politely asked the girl to leave, she suddenly slapped the actor,” adds the source.

Suddenly a crowd gathered and the girl was shown the exit door, “Surprisingly, Salman did not retaliate even once. He kept his cool and went inside with Sohail after the girl was taken away,” says the source.

Watch ‘London Dreams’ for Salman’s best performance ever

If you thought ‘Wanted’ perfectly showed what Salman is really capable of, you got to watch this one. It seems that there could not have been a meatier way of getting superstars Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan together after their almost a decade-old blockbuster ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’. Vipul Shah’s latest venture, ‘London Dreams’, which released all over this Friday, can definitely be watched exclusively for Salman Khan and one of his best performances ever, if not for anything else.

This one is of course the story of two thick pals, and about how their lives take them from the lush fields of Punjab to the high stakes world of stardom. Arjun (Ajay Devgn) is an ambitious, trained musician whose dream is to perform at London`s Wembley Arena. His best buddy Mannu (Salman Khan) is an inborn talented musician. But Mannu is not very serious about music. But Arjun insists Mannu to join a band, and that’s how he becomes an overnight star. And now, the best of relations get strained.

The first half, honestly, does just enough to set things up for the explosive drama that is to follow post-interval. The drama gets going when Ajay plays a vicious game and hatches a conspiracy to ruin his friend`s career.

What can really be appreciated about this one is the way Vipul has managed to give equal attention to both his leading men. And certainly not to be missed here is Salman Khan – Be it his light-hearted comedy in the first half or his troubled tryst with glory post interval, this is perhaps Salman`s one of the best performances ever. ‘London Dreams’ sees a completely controlled Salman, who emotes as naturally as never before.

On the other hand, after successfully showing his funny side in his last hit ‘All The Best’, Ajay Devgn has once again carried off his character with utmost intensity. From love to jealousy to anger to insecurity, Ajay brilliantly conveys a wide range of emotions in ‘London Dreams’. Asin Thottumkal is likable and she too does full justice to her role of a common love interest, though she doesn’t seem to have much to do there!

On the whole, ‘London Dreams’ is amongst Vipul Shah`s most accomplished works till date. Plus, what else can one ask for when it boasts of some incredible performances by two of the most talented superstars of Hindi cinema.

Salman Khan in his Band Costume

Salman Khan in his Band Costume

Salman Khan and the film-makers of London Dreams were in for a rude shock while shooting in Punjab recently when they realised that Salman’s costumes had not reached the sets. In the particular scene, Salman was playing a member of a Indian wedding band. He had squeezed a few days out for the film.

To their utter discomfort, the production team found out that the costumes would not reach Punjab while Salman is there. This meant that he would not be able to shoot those scenes and the schedule would go haywire resulting in major losses for Vipul Shah, the producer and director.

However, Salman came to the film-maker’s rescue. A source says, “Salman had allotted just a couple of days to Vipul to wrap up the Punjab schedule because he had to shoot for Veer after that. By the time the dresses would have arrived, Salman would have left Punjab. The production team told him about the problem and he stepped forward to bail them out. He asked the production team to get him addresses of traditional Indian bands located nearby. After he got the list, he arranged for cars to head to those places. Everybody was wondering what he was up to.”

The insider adds, “Salman visited the band offices and took them by surprise when he told them that he wanted to borrow one uniform from them. He gave them his measurements.

The locals were more than willing to help him out. After a frantic search, Salman got his size and hurried back to the sets. The film-makers were relieved that they could resume shooting and thanked Salman.”

Vipul says, “On the day of the shoot we approached a few bands and picked up the dress for Salman. We had some other dresses in mind, but he saw the red dress worn by a band member and thought it would work wonders for his character.”
